The integrity of a New Jersey Crash Report (NJTR-1) review is highly dependent on the reviewer's expertise. While some police departments utilize specialized traffic safety units for quality control, many others rely on overburdened patrol supervisors whose perfunctory review processes may allow critical errors, omissions, and improper fault determinations to go undetected. These oversights can significantly impact the outcome of your client's case.
Our independent, highly experienced review not only identifies these hidden errors but also exposes potential vulnerabilities in the official findings, providing your legal team with the leverage needed to challenge inaccurate conclusions and secure a fair outcome for your client.
The crash report (NJTR-1) involving the attorney’s client will be fully reviewed to ensure it is accurate, consistent, and holds the proper driver at fault. Upon completion of the review, the requesting attorney will be contacted to discuss the need for further services.
.Upon being instructed to do so by the requesting attorney, the attorney will receive an analysis and explanation of Law Enforcement findings and expert opinion regarding causality. Additionally, all errors, omissions, or other issues with the report will be highlighted.
During the crash report review questions may arise that are not clearly covered or explained in the NJTR-1, but may be explained if captured by video footage. Upon being instructed to do so by the requesting attorney, these video files (provided by the requesting attorney) will be reviewed, and the findings will be incorporated into the report of findings.
Upon being instructed to do so by the requesting attorney, the scene of the crash will be visited to gain better understanding of any roadway or other characteristics that may have contributed to the crash. This would be reserved for situations where satellite images of the location do not reveal issues.
In cases where errors or omissions are detected, where the requesting attorney and his/her client wish to have the written record corrected, a supplemental NJTR-1 would be completed. The supplemental NJTR-1 that would be provided will amend all the errors from the officer’s original report. The supplemental NJTR-1 provided to the requesting attorney would have to be forwarded to the officer for submission to the state. The requesting attorney could also petition the court to order the officer to prepare and submit the supplemental NJTR-1 exactly as it is prepared by NJ Crash Review LLC.
Cases that require court appearances must be booked at least two weeks in advance, and appearance fees are non-refundable. If notified at least twenty-four hours in advance that a court appearance is postponed, the fee already paid will be credited to the next scheduled court date. See the fee schedule for pricing based on location.
